I have a 87 FXRP that I am thinking about selling. I was wondering what it might be worth. It has about 50k on it. It is in good shape. I have put alot of work into it making it run strong. It has a BDL primary. I have rebuilt/rejetted the carb. Screaming eagle pipes. It has a new stator. It is not chromed out, i dont dig that sort of stuff. Just putting the feelers out. I just dont ride it that much anymore and i hate to see it just sit there. |

pix please? my third Harley was an '86 FXR-P (former Seattle Police bike) that over the course of several years i transformed into my version of a tasteful Low Rider. nice bike, rode and handled very well, and sure sold me on the concept of rubber engine mounting. i'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the FXR's. Too bad you're half a continent away from the left coast - I'd offer to trade a sweet turbo'd S-2'd 1991 Buell RS for it! (see profile pic) FXR's are averaging from around 6 thousand up to 10G, even more. Customized ones on craigslist are listed at an average of around 12 thousand, but those tend to have big, aftermarket motors, chromed into oblivion, with custom paint. (think 'showbike') I have no idea if anybody is buying or not. Like Jerry, I too have that "soft spot" for FXR's, though I've never owned one. AL |
