Maybe they will announce that to attract conquest sales and repeat buyers that BMC will require dealers to stock more than oil filters and to actually support the product. Yep, my local "dealer" has pissed me off again. One can dream..... (Message edited by 4Cammer on June 01, 2008) |

"Trust me, the 9 engine ain't going away." They're cutting it awfully close! How many bikes is it still available in...? Two? Out of 10? ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on June 02, 2008) |

Mmm, I was counting the CityX and... oh, wait, there is no standard S with a 900, is there? Wow, yeah, down to one! I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they gave the 1200 to the CityX in the next year or two. ~SM |

Price point and insurance rates. 9 is here to stay for a while would be my guess. They took it out of the 'bolt because the mid-performance bike didn't need the smallest twin engine in it anymore. That riding position now has fast (12r) and faster (1125r); no need for the 9r, they'll leave it's performance point in the upright S body. And yes, we all know the 9s are nearly as quick off the line because of the gearing changes....but the insurance industry pays lots of attention to cc's. |

Buell may not be giving up the aircooled motors, but nobody said they're keeping the XB platform. Time for a change and the 25th would be a great time to do it. |

I mentioned my anticipation for the 1125r when I met Eric at Liberty Buell. After saying "I love my Buell, but I can't wait for that 1125r" he went from all smiley to very uncomfortable. I got the impression he was being rushed on the 1125r and was very unhappy with the pressure. Then he asked which was my XB9r, three times, when it was in plain sight then noted how "glad was that I appreciated it" That interaction leads me to believe we aren't getting a new bike/platform. I don't think the 2009 police uly is any indication of stagnation, cause air cooled is the right way to go for such a bike. I think his expressions indicate 2010 at best for a new platform. |

Hey, Raptors & Rockets has some interesting artwork (pure speculation) posted: More here: http://www.raptorsandrockets.com/News/2008/2008_Bu ell_Motorcycles.htm I doubt we'll see all of these in 2009, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see something very close to at least one of them. |

Doesn't Buell have a two year cycle? Major announcements every two years, minor changes (Bold! New! Graphics!) in the inbetween years? We've had the redesign of the air-cooled engine AND the helicon engine for 2008, so I don't expect anything earth shattering for 2009. Maybe another "parts bin special" like the STT? |

VRSCF could be a takeoff of the FXDF and FLSTF - "fat" front end, shorter rake, more stubby overall profile. Maybe a less-raked, wide-front-tire VRSC? Oh, wait...they tried (and killed) that with the VRSCR.... |
