Don't blip the throttle.
Don't give it any gas when starting.

+1

Too much fuel in a cold engine. Best thing you can do is start it and let it warm up for a few minutes before you go for a ride.

Is your spark good? Is it an issue in the electrical or wiring? Just asking, worth checking -- otherwise/in addition:

Warm the engine up -- put your gear on after you start it up, give it time.

Don't lug the engine -- they REALLY don't like it.

Ride it harder -- you should be at 3.5-4K RPM most times, running lower will result in poor functioning and issues like fouled plugs.

No short hops -- take the long way.

It is a good indication that the Buell is happy when the fan goes on while riding or at least clicks on when you park -- the fan is your friend, not your enemy. I am at 6.5K miles, and my 12R is running like a champ.

Cheers!

i don't hit the gas when starting.
I always let the engine warm up. and I never lug it always around 4k or so. Its always seamed to run rich sence i bought it could that be a problem or is it natural for these bikes to run rich?

Why do you think it's running rich?

By blipping the throttle, I mean at all.
I've noticed a lot of people like to blip at stops, or while coasting to a stop, or just before they start from a stop, that sort of thing.

These bikes have a very sorted out EFI, I can't see it running rich unless some mod has been done.

blip for downshifting ok? sorry to be nit-picky, but i've recently changed up downshifting and my plugs are fouled, probably from regular use ~ 10k on them, but just making sure i'm not doing it.

Blipping when down shifting is fine. Just don't blip the throttle at a stand still from right off idle. The flywheel is way too heavy on the bikes to blip at idle. Once you're underway, blip away.

Since I installed the new race exhaust I can't help Bliping. I blip constantly.

EDIT: I only Blip when I'm moving. No-No while warming her up.
