Did you check the battery? Could be dead, or a bad voltage regulator or stator. Similar thing happened to me. Last year it was a bad stator, this month, the voltage regulator went south even though I replaced it last year with the stator. I've heard most of the time what we think is a fueling problem is actually an electrical problem.

That happened to me the day after I bought my 07 12S. It was the ECM on mine, replaced under warranty from the factory.

There are 3 relays for key switch, start and ignition. I would suggest removing and inserting each one and see if anything changes. If that doesn't help, try swapping them around and see if that helps.

The problem could be a high resistance due to oxidation or corrosion in one of those contacts or maybe a relay went belly up.

Another thing you might try is turning the handlebars from stop to stop. I believe there have been reports of wires chafing and breaking where the wire bundle is around the steering neck.

Also look at the battery cable connection on the posts. There have been problems reported because some cable hold-down screws are slightly too long and bottom out before making a solid connection. If this is the case, a small washer can be put under the screw head to tighten the grip on the cable.
