Things I learned (or was reminded of) at Track Day 1. The M2 is still a better bike than I am a rider 2. 1.1Kg fork springs are better for 200 pound riders than the stockers 3. Maintenance Throttle rocks! 4. I’m still slow, but getting faster 5. More often than not, a little more throttle will clear everything up 6. Trucking the scoot to the track is the way to go! 7. Dunlop 205s aren’t slowing me down 8. Stock brake pads ARE slowing me down just fine, thank you! 9. Being on the track with friends and people you trust is aces! 10. I’ve gone about as far as I can without convincing myself to get my a$$ of the bike . . .. . no chicken strips, pegs ground, head over the inside grip . .. I gotta get over the “If Hailwood didn’t need to lean off, neither do I” mental block I’ve got 11. I planned on fiddling with ride height, dropping the forks in the trees, rebound/compression damping . . . . seems that the factor that needs tuning most is, wait for it, ME Go to a track day . . .. it’ll make you a much better rider!

Sweet bomber! Where did you go? another good point is NO COPS!!!!!!!!! My S1 race bike is for sale by the way if you don't want to throw your M2 down the road! WFO p.s. - I race with the stock brake pads...I prefer them to everything I've tried so far. |

Racer -- Blackhawk, which is, IMHO, a great track for Buells . . .. . . thanks for the offer of the S1, but I'm gonna have to pass .. .. I learned one other thing . . . . .the reve limiter works on the way up, but not if the nut behind the bars downshifts too early (smile) |

Dyna . . .yessir, it is (or will be once I replace the low-speed air adjuster, which vibrated out of the carb on the last session . . . .. good thing I got a spare, but I'm gonna have to find the spring that secures it . . .something tells me it's not going to be a part that's sold individually . . .. . actually didn't get it past the redline . . .. just prooved the need for a slipper clutch if I keep making that mistake (grin) . . . .it DOES get the rear tire to step out nicely, though (grin) |
