I notice that some Ulys show both headlights lit. Mine only has one lit at a time: Left is Hi beam, other is Lo beam. Is there something wrong with my 08 or is there a secret switch I haven't found yet? | ||

You've missed it....  I don't have link to hand, however: Open the left hand control Careful of things popping out (not too bad, just be aware) Look at the circuit board of the light switch solder a jumper across the two wires on the board. Put back together. Thats it. Neat, and tidy. Takes 10 mins even if you cannot solder well. There is another way which is changing the wires in the loom, however it sucks. Cheers! There is another way which is changing the wires in the loom, however it sucks. I'd have to say to each their own on this one. I swapped the pins up front in about five minutes. All you have to do is make sure you open the top of the connector, as pictured here:  Once you do that, you can look right down into the connector and see the little plastic barb that needs to be displaced. Just use the smallest jewelers screwdriver you have, push the plastic barb out of the way and pull the pin right out. Swap yellow pin (low beam) with the orange/white pin (Euro light lead), put it all back together and you'll have both lights on when you select the high beam. Tipsy | ||

Ah - I should have said that I'm in the UK, and so in Europe we use the parking light thing (not that I actually do, however there is a working light bulb in there, so I leave it alone). The loom method uses the parking light circuit to power the dip beam. The handlebar mod crosses the two dip and high beam circuits and so leaves the parking light alone. And there is a much discussed and perfectly feasible method of getting both lights on by manipulating the rocker switch to stay in the middle. It works, but over time vibrations may set it to one setting or the other. Perhaps it is from having old bikes with delicate charging systems, but I don't like the idea of changing this permanently. Perhaps I am just lazy? | ||

...or one could duct tape the flash-to-pass switch down (in the on position) with a narrow double thickness piece of duct tape, if one were, ahem, too lazy to solder the switch connections properly. . | ||
