Tomorrow evening I intend to install a Kisan PathBlazer (no questions on that, it just plugs into the H7 lamp), SignalMinder SM1 and a set of basic HyperLite LED aux. flashing brake lights. Does anyone have any tips on accessing the brake and taillight wires and the color coding of each? Where is the turn signal flasher mounted? I'll be glad when my shop manual comes in.... |

I added a set of Hyper lights to mine. I found it easy to access and tap into the brake lights, by taking the brake completely off the bike. I forget which colors mate to which, but it's pretty easy to determine. The undertail has a little "bubble" at the lowest rear most section at which you can run your wires into the tail. No idea on the how to hook up the signal minder, but the flasher unit is up front under the cowl on the clutch side. |

SignalMinder SM1 To anyone who has already installed the SM1; does the instrument panel turn signal indicator stay illuminated all the time when the turn signals are configured as running lights? Tipsy |

Yes, with the Signal Minder the indicator stays on with the signals. I set mine on "low" and it is not objectionable. During the day, it is hard to tell that it is on. The confusing part is having the signal indicator blink while braking. I was not able to disable the turn signal switch in the way that was described with the SM1. I even called. Eventually, I had to cut off the little stops that hold the switch shuttle in place when activated. It is a one-way modification. If I were to go back to the stock flasher, I'd have to replace the turn signal switch as well. Mark in Arizona |

That's what I thought. One of the best mods I did on my old Sportster was to install a set of front turn signals on the rear. The factory front turn signals have dual filament bulbs and looked completely stock when installed on the rear. I like the look (and function) of the stock Buell signals. I wish the manufacturer (somewhere in Italy?) produced a set with dual filament bulbs. Tipsy |

Thanks for the info, the turn signal flasher is under the flyscreen, it was obvious once I removed the screen to install the PathBlazer. If any of you install a PathBlazer do not get the one that Kisan recommends for the Uly, get the one that you cut the wires and tap in. The Uly does not have enough room in the rubber boot to mount the recommended unit, I modified it a bit to get it to work, but I don't really like the way it turned out. I didn't install the HyperLites or the Signal Minder because they didn't arrive today. So much for paying extra for 3 day select... |
