Hello Buell'ers, Just wondering in any tubers out there have ever used/installed the Manta tail/seat on the late (fat) model Cyclone? I'm considering buying the Manta tail set up and just wondered if there are issues with the tail. I've surfed through various post on the BB and found where folks are considering as well, but no info on the outcome... Thanks in advance for any feedback! I have a 97' cyclone and have researched what the folks here have had to do to make this swap happen. It will require some frame cutting and welding to shorten and reshape the area that the tail section fits and bolts to. Got a torch? |

That is inaccurate. The newer/wider 1999+ Buell Cyclone tail section is a bolt on to the old version Cyclones. No frame cutting is required. There may be a very small area on the newer tail section that needs to be trimmed is all. But that may actually be for the opposite situation where one is mounting the older tail section on the newer Cyclone. If I recall it has to do with getting clearance for the fuse block, which on the old Cyclones was located in a different location under the tail section/subframe versus right there under the seat. |

Blake, I'm not talking about the cyclone manta tail. I'm talking about the S1 manta tail. Jay's bike already has the cyclone manta tail section on it. |
