Typing with one hand is kinda of difficult so please forgive any misspelled words. I was taking my time today, an tried to let some one pull in to traffic in front of me, but the idiot just sat there even after I waved him in. So I start to get a little frustrated as the light has no turned green and the traffic is passing through the intersection. I wave to the guy one last time, as I start to let out my clutch and start to proceed. The guy is still not moving so I start to go. As soon as I start to drive by him, he starts to pull out in the intersection. I so I give my bike a little gas thinking now this guy is going to hit me who made absolutly no movement when I was waiving him in to traffic. So as I start to gas up to get around this guy, the ass hole that I though was two car lengths ahead of me slams on his breaks for no apparent reason. I grab a handful of both breaks, and up comes my back tire. I am thinking to myself I am ok, I am ok but the guy that slamned on his breaks was still not moving. So here I am on my front wheel getting closer and closer, and instead of letting off the break and reapplying, what do I do, grab some more break. Yup bike ass over tea kettle. Broken rear sub frame Broken fly screen housing Fly screen toast left CRG mirror toast shifter selector toast Select seat ripped pretty good Frame pucks scratched MY NEW right side scope scratched Air box cover slightly scratched But other than that the bike faired really well. Handle bars still straight, levers good, no scratches on the frame or forks. Everything feels to be true and straight. I rode the bike to a friends house that lives close with some interesting shifting techniques. I was having trouble pulling the clutch, thinking my left hand is broken. Go to the hospital do the xray thing. Dr says no break here is some vicoden. So now I am writing this drinking a bud light just after I took a vicoden!!!!!!!!!!! Any help with any of the parts listed above would be greatly appreciated. I will be surfing the classifieds, and maybe some nice soul on the pay it forward. All is well that ends well AGATT. |

Damn man, I've been there. Glad nothing is broke. I ended up with a fixator on my right wrist due to some who did the same thing that happened to you. |

After a car wreck I had a steady supply of Lortab and didn't quit my drinking. It was ALOT of fun but I quickly realized it was getting me very addicted. It was a blast. Loved it but it started making me an aszhole when I didn't have any. Be careful. |

Man, I am sorry to hear about your accident. Glad to hear the bike wasn't more damaged. Hopefully your hand isn't too bad. I don't totally trust emergency room x-rays though. I hurt my shoulder a few years ago and went to the emergency room. They x-rayed it and said it wasn't broken. When it was still hurting just as bad 3 weeks later I went to an orthopedic specialist. They x-rayed it again and showed me the break in the x-ray. Also, do be careful with that vicodan. My son had a bad accident and his doctors gave it to him. It really helped, but like Cudajohn, he didn't want to stop taking it. Just be careful with it. Dan |

I appreciate every ones concern, but I have already switched to Ibprofin. I hate taking Rx drugs always have. The comment about vicoden and bud light was just to make light of the situation. My hand is the size of a softball right now. I go to my family Dr. on Thursday and if it does not look any better I am sure he will order more x-rays. I feel like such an idiot, because this crash was totally my fault, and very easily could have been avoided. |

sorry to hear what happened hard, it can and usually does happen at one time or another. of course like i tell other people, if i'm gonna do something stupid, i'm at least gonna be prepared for it hence the ATGATT stance. don't blame you about the drug thing either. i don't even like to take an aspirin much less the lipitor. hope you heal up alright. |

After I had my second hernia surgery (there is a proper way to pick up a downed motorcycle) the doc gave me great drugs. A week later he gave me some sage advice that I'll always remember: "It'd be best to drink plenty of fluids and lay off the narcotics." |

"I feel like such an idiot, because this crash was totally my fault, and very easily could have been avoided." I think a real man should take it on the chin when he knows he's wrong. That's a quality totally lacking in most men these days. Glad you made it out relatively unscathed. The bike can be repaired, your hand will heal, and this experience will become another facet to your character. |
