I bought a primary gasket some while ago (I forget why) and have kept it in good shape until my wife decided to re-organize my cabinets and didn't treat it with care. So, it now has at least one bend in it. Can I still use it? Or would I just end up with a leak and have to replace it anyway? I have to replace my shift shaft, and $20 for a new primary gasket will just add that much more to the cost of the winter maintenance. |

Kinda depends how sharp the kink is. Flatten it out as best you can. If the rubber material doesn't crack and come off, it will likely work just fine. If the rubber material separates, it's toast. |

Maybe some silicone sealant is a solution!? |
