what is the most cost effective way to put a big bore kit on an x1, or any tuber for that matter. also on a side note, how does the stock ddfi deal with a big bore kit? can any tuner or ecm spy handle the change? how much hp and how big a cam is too big for the street?

Limited,
If you are looking for HP bang for the buck a big bore kit isn't the first place to go. In and of itself it will probably add about the percentage of displacement increase to the bikes RWHP (+ or minus depending on how well the stock rings were sealing, etc.).
Better bet, IMHO, is call or email Pammy at cyclerama and ask her and/or Wes about the best piston/headwork/cam combo for your particular budget. Pammy's X1 puts out some ridiculous 160-ish amount of HP.
