my 95 S2 was parked over winter and she turns over but no start! i put a tank of fresh premium and cleaned the spark plugs. there is spark at the plugs and there fuel at the plugs.(lightly moist). i also adjusted the timing a little to see if that helps. but still nothing. when i have the throtle open a little i can see mist of fuel spray out of the carb. what does that mean? do u guys have any ideas? thanks |

"i also adjusted the timing a little to see if that helps. but still nothing." I would put it back to the timing marks when it ran. New plugs. Sometimes wet old ones won't do it. Try cleaning the carb. It is pretty easy to take apart use lots of carb cleaner in any place you can spray it. I'm not an expert but nobody else answered. Let us know} |

Suzie Make sure you have a good charge on the battery. As said above good set of plugs. Make sure the timing is on and use the enricher. Also clear out the cylinders before you put the new plugs in. Joe |

Hit it with some starting fluid. If it don't pop, spudder or fart then go through all that. (except the fully charge batt. part) |

Only because I've done it...repeatedly..."turn the gas on, dummy". LOL. On a serious note, I left my S1W to sit for too long last summer without first draining the carburetor (close the petcock and run it till it ran dry) and I had to disassemble the carb and de-gum the jets and all the passages. Modern gas, with all its additives, just SUCKS if it sits for too long. Pull your filter and work the throttle a couple times - does the accel pump actually squirt gas into the throat? The longer mine sits, the more turns I have to give it pre-start to get it running. Say, four or five turns to full throttle and releasing before hitting the start button, to prime the intake. The fuel spray out the carb with the throttle partly open is normal, just the slight backflow that occurs in the intake. |

You've got gum in your primary jets. Always drain all fuel from a carb bike when storing for the off season( that is non EFI). and if EFI, then stabilizers can be used with high quality fuel. |

ive think ive found the problem. she is over fueling. looks like the float is leaking extra fuel. im gonna get a a CV carb rebuilt kit and see what happenes. ive tried cleaning and see if there was some thing stuck in the float but it looks good. |

wooooohoooo, she done PMSing. i got her started. i cleaned the float with carb cleaner and the rest of the carb also and she fired up instanlty!! thanks u guys!!! |
