Since the introduction of my XB9S to the somewhat close minded sportbike crowd I know, I have found a surprising amount of support for the XB models. My main riding partner went from a Ninja to an XB9R, and is very happy. I've been a member of abpms (alt.binaries.pictures.motorcycles.sportbike) for a number of years now. And believe me these guys can be brutal. When I bought the XB I thought I'd be shunned, I wasn't. There have been more curiosity for this bike than most new bikes to come into the group. There's one guy ready to sell his Hayabusa, so he can buy an XB9S! When I first got my bike I got a lot of "What kind of bike is that?", "That's cool lookin', what is it?" ect. Lately it's been, "Hey that's a Buell!", "Hey, man, that's a sharp lookin' Buell!". I'm not going to any different places, or hangin' out with different circles, or anything else like that. It's just that it shows that Buell is now being more and more recognized as a Buell, not just a cool looking mystery bike. I talked to a guy this weekend with a new R6, he said he wished he had bought a Buell, but at the time he just "couldn't take that plunge". I've always been proud of being a Buell owner (even though only since April). You guys that have been the Buell faithful for a lot longer should be proud of yourselves for being such forward thinkers and willing to "take that plunge". With the introduction of the XB12s, and the positive press, not to mention the 2 year warranty, I think it's gonna be a very good Buell year... Erik has made the grade. Congratulations Erik! |

Hey Glitch. I spent an hour in your favorite dealer today. They have 3 XB12S' on the floor, and I still could not get any attention while drooling over them. I must be transparent! All 230 pounds of me. This is a first Sunday coming up. Lets ride the TWO route. |

It's weird but in the two weeks that I've been back from the 20th I've gotten more compliments about my bike than I did in the past two years. It seems like at every stoplight I've got people saying, "Nice bike!", "Cool Buell!", "The new 12s are awesome!" They are usually younger guys in their 20s and either on a sportbike or in a car or truck. In other words, not "Harley types". It seems like more people are becoming aware of Buell and are also more positive than ever. It's awesome! |

I had a guy ask the typical question "how do you say that...who makes that..." when his 10 year old son says.. "Oh yeah dad, thay advertise that on TV!" I almost shit. This Buell thing is getting some traction. |

Tripper: I wouldn't call them my favorite dealer, just the best one I've found around without having to drive an hour or more...If I'm going more than an hour I'm going to Tilley's... I can't believe they didn't even ask you if you needed help. Let me know next time you go (if there is a next time), I'll introduce you to Scott (Z-Man) and Pete, they're sales guys that are really into Buell. I'm supposed to go up and show Pete the frame protectors, I'll scold him for not being on the look out for Buellers. Pete just bought an XB12S in red. He'll probably ride this Sunday as well. Did you see the X1 they took in trade? edited by glitch on September 04, 2003 |

3 12s on the floor, God I wish they'd send some more to me. I have none in stock. Hey Glitch, If they want some of those frame protectors to sell have Scott give me a call and we can hook them up. Ride to the edge! Dave HD/Buell Cycle Center Waterloo Iowa Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

Ok Dave, I'll be going by there this afternoon or tomorrow. It looks to me as they are changing a little bit over there (Tripper can't see it 'cause they can't see him), they are selling some Joe Rocket jackets and stuff. |

Daves Lake Shore over here has a couple . . .given their complete and utter lack of interest, you might be able to swing a deal, yes? Rumor has it that Kegal in Rockford has some as well . . . . .I don't know anything about them, but have only met one or two Buell riders from that area, if memory serves |

Dyna...Does Hal's have a new Buell Boy yet? I see a lot of folks sitting in Rick's old chair but nobody that looks like they are remotely interested in the product. Damn, I would love to take a crack at selling their Buells. You know, give Dave a little competition in the Midwest. |

Last I heard nobody had actively taken the job, but I heard that someone might just be appointed the position. Doesnt sound like a real positive angle to me. |

Interesting. With winter approaching soon, I imagine it doesn't make much sense to hire anyone until next year. Hmmmm... |
