When i ride(at a quick pace) with some people who have HD's or even the PP-100 Indians their down revs between shifts sounds like angry monsters snorting. Is it cause they run more of a straight pipe set up or is my 9 just wound up too tight? Like when I'm riding next to this one guy we ride 1st gear to the top and then shift. His down rev sounds almost like a bark. While mine clicks up to the next gear without taking a break. RPMs drop instantly only jump back up to keep climbing.

Now that I added the race pipe to my 9 people in cars, on bikes, walking by and babies in strollers know I downshifted. Its a cool note, not as loud as straight pipes, but noticeable.
