Not sure if this is anything to worry about, but I was sitting at a traffic light yesterday evening idling in neutral and heard a load single metallic sounding ping noise. It appeared to come from the front of the engine and almost sounded like a sonar ping. The engine never missed a beat and ran fine before and after. Checked the diagnostic mode when I got home and no codes so the bike appears to be fine. I'm hoping this was a rock thrown up by traffic or came from another vehicle but it has me thinking, if it came from the bike, what it could be. If it was from the bike anyone ever heard of anything like this or know what it might be? |

Most likely a rock hit one of the head-pipes or the Bagpipe Exhaust. I heard a few "tinks" on my trip south, one was loud enough to make me jump. I've found bug-guts on my front rim, perhaps a rock hit the rotor, that would "sing". Z |

It's the "bagpipe" sounding off from something striking it. It does have an odd type resonance when struck by a rock or the like. Neil S. |
