Just installed the 1125R caliper on my XB race bike for Daytona and the front wheel is a mutha to remove. I am told to get a brake line about 12" longer so that when you unbolt the caliper it can just rotate down to the bottom and pop right out of the front wheel. Terry from Hals said they did this on their XBRR and could do wheel changes in 20sec. Anyone now who can make me a longer brake line. Terry at Hals said to use #2 braided stainless brake line but did not remember where they had it done for their XBRR. |

Try Spiegler USA at http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/brakelines.cfm or you may find a local shop that can make up liines to suit teh length you want. Most brake lines are now 'modular' so are easy to make to any length. |

i did the same thing on our XB9R but with the stock caliper (6 piston), it makes tire changes a breeze, and we zip tie it up for neatness, it is only about 7 inches longer, and if we left it loose because of time restraints, it would not be unsafe. we are thinking of attaching it with a spring to pick it up, instead of the zip tie |

the RR front wheel have a little flat spot in the spokes, to make it easer to change for a tire change i remove the fender and front axle, lift the wheel and turn the left leg with caliper out ( done with a front stand under the stearing stem ) so the caliper bolt/ threath don't ware that much ( locktide ) btw. 20 seconds is really fast |
