I may have missed it but I don't think we have heard anything from the folks who sell the right side air scoop on whether they are effective/necessary or not. I would be interested in what they have to say as I am thinking of getting one. |

There is NO winning on this for them. Go back and check other posts on the right side scoop. The only vindication will be if Buell ever comes out with one. THEN it will be OK! |

There is NO winning on this for them. I tend to agree with you here. However, those of us using right side scoops realize the benefits. |

Ok, I finally broke down and bought a CF one from Al Lighton. Well worth the money, I took a 1hr ride yesterday and the fan only turned on when I stopped, and even then ran about half the time it normally does. Up until this point my fan would run from 10 min after start up to 5 minutes after shutdown. Thanks, Al. |

That, gentlemen, is one very interesting thread, thank you very much. The fan noise is a big issue for some and whilst I appreciate its one noisy mother it is doing a vital job. My own thoughts have been in the direction of fitting a bigger scoop but then if this does contribute to an engine problem this is bound to be a cop out on the warranty. I think im going to leave things as they are and try to love my fan.. after all its my only one. |
