Just back from the shindig. Some show it was too. We arrived at the wind tunnel at Monash University in Melbourne on Monday night and there is Erik sitting on the machine with the whole tracer smoke thing happening - and it got better from there. Erik & the H-D Aus boss in the truck - carting all our stuff, three techs from the factory in one van, wonderful PR girl, video and still photogs in another van, HDA's road captains and 16 journalists on 1125r's (and a Firebolt that the staffers shared) 2 days riding around the empty roads over and around the base of the Great Dividing range. What a machine. I didn't quiz all of them but I'd say look forward to some very positive reviews from down under. I didn't take many photos - they will be supplied - download what I have shortly. I asked Erik for a quote for posting online and he said: http://web.mac.com/david_cohen_design/Site/Featured_Vid.html We had some fun. Dave, I can't wait to hear your impressions. After the Brits dumped on them, (and said were so inferior to the Ducati, KTM went to Hochenheim and kicked some butt. And I don't mean a race prepped version of the same model I mean actual press bikes that had been flogged to death and dismissed as uncompetitive by certain British Journos wewnt off to Germany were they received very minimal prep for racing. They were beat up preproduction street bikes running against race prepped 1098Rs.) I can't wait to read an unbiased view. Not to mention the bike you got are actual production bikes. |

>>You did get seat time, right?<< Oh yeah - I was one of the Journos. 2 full days. Dave, I thought the bike is fabulous. All the good things - the mass cetralisation, the trilogy of tech, the belt drive, the brakes, all the stuff I love with a 145hp sweetness of a mill. Found nothing at all to dump on. Even the haters who couldn't get past the looks of the bike are likely to be swayed when they see it with a rider on board. Will post up the report when I get it done. |

+1 in person... Stand directly behind an 1125, ogle its curves for a minute and tell me that youre not in love with its looks...I'll call you a blind fool... Congrats Dave. Youve got the life, man! |
