I would expect the 1125 to do well in this class. Can anybody remember the last time a Buell got bumped _up_ in class...? Jack |

I'm really curious what Buell's plans are. With the XBRR, they had a chance to compete . . . but not realistically win the Daytona 200. There's no reason the 1125R couldn't win with the right rider and crew. So will they field a full-on factory team for next year's 200? They now clearly have the ability to compete in this new "Superbike" and Moto-ST. For "Literbike", they would likely need an homologation bike to be competitive (though I haven't seen the final rules yet). Hopefully we'll hear more about their plans soon. WSBK would be a good time and place for an announcement, don't you think? If not there, homecoming isn't too far away. . . . or will we have to wait for the 2009 winter dealer meeting? If they really want to make a go, they should probably be talking to top riders now to get someone under contract. It would be cool to see them field a team with riders like Higbee, Crevier, Estok, Bilansky etc., but would they be able to do it? Would they need to bring in at least one top class rider? I wonder if Jeremy McWilliams would be interested in another try. . . or is he happy and comfortable in semi-retirement? I wonder what kind of TV coverage we'll get. I'm betting that's a high priority for Edomndson. 2009 should be a VERY interesting year. |
