So what are your favorite methods for cleaning bug-guts off your visor while underway? My rag-in-the-jacket approach is hardly effective especially when peering at the setting sun through a sheen of dead bugs. Sorta ruins the mood ya know? I am a hoping to learn from ye wise ones..... |

For day rides I forget about it until gas stops. On trips thru buggier parts of the country I'll take along a wet terrycloth rag in a ziploc bag. |

I wet down a strip of cotton T-Shirt with windex and place in a zip lock. It cuts the guts. At stops, I will drape the cloth over the shield to rehydrate the bugs and make them easier to remove. |

"Moist Towelette" packets from your favorite barbeque or fried chicken joint. I grab a handful every time I go in a place that has them. They're moistened with alcohol; it cuts right through the bug guts. I always keep some in my jacket pockets. (Message edited by hughlysses on April 17, 2008) |

+1 on the moist towelettes. I keep one of the S2's fairing bags filled with 'em. Wish I had those bags on the Uly.... |

You guys didn't read the question properly,he said "while underway"-that means whilst riding right,in motion, yeah? Cable-tie a tennis ball with the top cut off to your handle bars, wet a sponge before you set off, plonk it in the ball and there ya go. |

Kinda like this? The drain holes are highly effective... maybe a little RTV is in order. Thanks Hoon!

Ha ha, no bugs indeed. With riding after work, the second shift critters get pretty thick around here. Keeps reminding me of that Mary Chapin Carpenter song... The tennis ball is about my speed of farkles tho... I bet I could get an orange ball! |

The worst I have run into is those yecchhhey stinking love bugs in South Georgia and Florida. Ya need a pressure washer, a shovel, and a broom to get that mess off. And some breath mints....there are so many they will find their way into your helmet and you end up tasting at least one. |

No worries Sek, I've recently fitted one on my Uly but not had the need to test it yet,the above pic is of a fellow UKBEG members bike. We're in good company apparently,Mike Hailwood did the same thing whilst racing Ducatis-bloody copycats eh? |

Good one Vern...blue balls... that's what I get if I spend too much time on Uly...not that the seat has anything to do, it comes from girlfriend busting said balls.... |
