Alright I'm seeing more and more people with out the plastic contraption on their 1125R ... so I would like to know what some of you have done. I know someone said not too long ago, that the Firebolt plate holder would fit, but left an uncovered hole, any remedies? Any feedback is helpful, i just would really like to clean up the rear end!

Pictures of the rear and the undertail are helpful too. Thanks!

I first cut a piece of card bored to the shape of the inside to cover up the hole,

then cut a piece of sheet metal to fit but it has to be bent to fit,

I also put holes in it so I could bolt the firebolt license plate from through the metal and screw everything together,

I then sealed it up with silicon.

Cut and bent mine by dead-blow hammer and an anvil.
1/8" aluminum plate.
Plate holder is 14 ga SS-304, rolled and bead blasted with aluminum stand-offs and force-spreader plates(not made yet in top pic).

I'm not nearly as crafty as some of the other folks on here. I took mine to a vise grip and then sawed it of. I bought a $10 firebolt bracket on eBay for my plate. Kind of Mad Max style. I'm hoping someone, someday will make a nice kit and then I'll replace it.

Rizoma makes a plate holder so take a look it is really nice but expensive.

Jason(Helicon), here is what I have done to mine. Similar to others but mine is 16 ga. aluminum, all one piece shaped and bent to fit. License plate frame paint matches the frame/swingarm. All I need now is a nice LED tail/stop light which are available. Bob

I appreciate the feedback and pictures! Seems like a lot of you have just crafted your own out of bending metal. Unfortunately I don't have much of a tool selection, and am not real sure I'd be able to make a nice bend and/or cut the metal.

No Rice, I'm curious did you just make your own undertray? and if so, what material is that?
