My gas cap on my 2001 m2 is stripped (the plastic part inside). Any suggestions where to get one cheaper than the $50 the dealer wants? I checked ebay, and they don't get much cheaper there. Ive already bent out the plastic tabs that let the cap lock/unlock once and it is just a temporary fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

You can fix your old one with a big pile of epoxy. http://www.saintjohn.nbcc.nb.ca/Marriott/x1/index2 .htm#Misc go down a couple of steps to see the heading "gas cap problems" |

I'm currently machining a new plastic piece, but out of aluminum. |

Pikesslayer, I'd be interested in one of those if you make more than one. DevDawg |

It looks like they just filled it up to cover the nut. Make sure the plastic part is rotated to where it needs to be before you make it permanent It's cheaper than a new one, right? |
