Anyone use a Suomy Spec 1R? I'm very interested, but can't find a place around here to try one on. I'm conerned about the internal shape.

My first helmet was an AGV GP1, and I had pressure on my forhead that was uncomfortable after 30 minutes or so.

Second (and current) helmet is an Icon Alliance SS, and fits just great - no discomfort at all.

I tried on an Arai Quantum II today, and it also felt very good for the couple minutes I had it on. Arai describes it as "round oval", which I found odd because I always felt I had a narrow head.

Anyways... can anyone give a comparison of the Suomy to these other helmets? I talked to a guy who had tried one at a store and he said it pinched him a little in the cheeks, but he a really wide and fat face, lol.

HELP!

The helmet should have a tight fit without being annoying. When purchasing a new helmet you should wear it for an hour before you decide to buy. Just because it feels good for the 2 minutes you wear it in the shop it can still be a pain after riding your bike for a longer period of time. So bring something to read and sit in the shop for an hour ;)

I use the Suomy Spec 1R Extreme, its light and looks good, the aerodynamics are great, but it is somewhat noisy. Thats no problem to me, I wear earplugs.

And it pinches my cheeks a little, but I prefer that to having a helmet that sits "loose" on my head.

By the way, the chinstrap solution feels kinda cheap..

I don't want to compare it to other helmets, so you buy it for the wrong reasons, my best advise is to buy (or at least try) it at the store, don't buy anything online if you dont know how it fits on YOU.

A helmet that doesnt annoy you is the safest, keeps your mind on the road and not on a uncomfortable lump in your helmet.

I have the Suomy Spec 1-R. Same comments as above. I like the soft chin strap, but the button bit...I ignore. It is loud, wear plugs.
I couldn't tell you what shape it is..... I put it on, it felt perfect.

Chipmunk cheeks are ok, hot spots on temple or forehead are Not.
