Well I have done 1,000 miles on the tire so far. Half of it in east TN and north GA twisties. 250 miles in wet to really wet conditions. Wet Road I can attest that the wet traction is fantastic. It was very confidence inspiring. Water siping is excellent. Dry Road I REALLY like the tire in dry twisties. It seemed to warm up quickly. The outer edges were very predictable and plenty sticky. There wasn't a point at which I felt that I was over running the tire and pushing it beyond traction capacity. The profile was very well mannered. I am not a Pirelli fan because I don't like the skittish, razor's edge profile of the tire I tried. Maybe it was just the particular model, but I never felt planted. It would go just about anywhere you wanted it to go, but I had to work harder to keep it on track. The PR2CT profile was stable. It took a little more effort to get the turn initiated, but once the turn was initiated, the turn in was predictable and measured. I don't mind having to use slightly more "body english" if it means that I get a more predictable and better mannered outcome. I would say that the profile is most like the Avon Storms, maybe slightly quicker. The real test will be the mileage. I have never gotten more than 4,000 out of a rear. I don't know that this one will go 4,000 either. I will probably be able to get 3,000 miles judging by the current wear. I'll post an additional review once they are ready to come off. So far, I like them as well as the Avon Storm. If the mileage is as good, I will probably buy another set. |

I've heard good things about the PR 2CT. But if they are more "rounded" in profile than the Diablos, I'll just stick with the Pirelli. I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I like a bike that handles telepathically and is razor sharp. I think that's why I didn't like the stock Dunlops. They just made the bike feel so heavy. I do like dual compound tires. I've been running dual compound Diablo Corsa IIIs on the track and they work VERY well. I'll be entering into a whole new world when I try my first set of slicks on the track in a few weeks. I'm hoping they are all they are cracked up to be. The extra stick combined with my more than 27lbs of weight loss SHOULD help me break into the 1:40's at Barber during the Inside Pass event. |

Interesting write up fatty. I just switched from the 616's to Syncs and too felt that "skittish" feel when cranked over through the turns. They have less than 500 miles on them so I was attributing it to mold release... who knows. What I do know is that I love the way they handle, way quicker and lighter on the turn in... and they transition quickly, very quickly. Some one had wrote up that the PR2's were way to quick to turn in... Al said that I think. Thanks for the write up. |

I'm glad to hear about the wet traction. I have a set that just went on my S2 and I get to ride it home in the rain (naturally). First ride on new tires, in the rain...awesome, lol. Wet traction is my main concern, I'd been running D208s on the bike and they were good in the dry...but wet traction sucked. I'm also looking forward to better mileage, although the 6400 I got out of the D208 rear isn't anything to sneeze at... |

I've got the pilot roads on mine. The rear has just over 3000 and the front has about 200. They seem to be good tires. I think wear is a little better but not much from the dunlops or the syncs. |
