I saw this at March Badness. It's freakin' huge. I talked with somebody who knew the owner (he wasn't around the campground at the time). Said it was a custom plexiglass piece that he made. It is standard plexiglass, so I'm not sure what it would be like if a good size rock hit it at 70-80 MPH, but I would think the thing would shatter. That would be my only concern. OK, that and the amount of wind drag at high speeds. Wayne |

Easy now. That cooler holds all the liquidy goodness. The BAW (Big Ass Windshield) was in great form with regard to the rain. I dare say that Vern (Etennuly) was the driest at speed of any of us. |

Wind drag??? Maybe, but I would think that the rider would have as much, if not more considering the rider is as big. Very cool if it was DIY! |

It was larger last year. He actually trimmed it for this years event. |

Thanks guys. I didn't know there was an award for such a thing. I built that thing two years ago for riding in the E. Tennessee winters, and for being able to ride in Florida in "Love Bug season". It has just a little larger profile than my wideness and the top edge comes to the bottom edge of my face shield. I have great fun riding with other Uly riders in the winter here. I turn on my Poly Heaters and full HD heated jacket and hide from the wind blast. Some have been known to buy news papers to line the front of their jackets(rightly so). It has stopped some very large hard bugs and even a small tree limb from hitting me. The helmet is a Buell full face from late 2004. I painted it to kinda match the Uly three tone. If this winter ever would end I will put the stock one back on for the summer again. |

How was your gas mileage affected? I like it. That sucker is just immense. How thick is it? Next one you make should continue on over the top of you and attach to the triple tail. http://revandy.imeem.com/music/V5v-9muU/lester_flatt_earl_scruggs_ballad_of_jed_clampett/ (Message edited by electraglider_1997 on April 04, 2008) |

Gas mileage seems to down only about 1. 3/16", came in a 4' x 10' sheet. I am amazed how clean the bike looks in the pictures. It was washed a few weeks before MBV and I got rained on several times. Cal Sci windshields = thinking inside the box. |
