Fresno if what you say is true then why am I seeing a deficit riding around at 4000 rpms and just stopping for lights no heavy traffic and just high beams on. Mike |

extended riding below 2000 RPM's If you are doing this, a dead battery is going to be the least of your concerns. |

Mike, That is straight from Buell.com. I surmise that you have <gasp> an electrical problem with your bike. Interestingly, I hit on the "What is the charging capacity of the Buell® 1125R?" in the FAQ when I searched for "customer service". Does that tell you that Buell CS just might be getting a number of calls regarding the electrics on the 1125r? |

>>>Kind of like how your brain shuts off blood to your extremities when your core temperature is dropping. The salient difference being that at no point will your GPS and radar detector turn black, begin to smell and drop off.

I have talked to several people and was told not to worry, but after today I have to worry and I think the warmer it gets the worse it will get, I did the same ride a week ago and the voltage code came on, it was sunny out so I did not see if the engine light came on but I left with my battery at 12.6 measured at the battery, I got to the parking garage and was walking to my appointment and seen a better parking place so I went back to my bike to start it and the battery light came on and the light I have connected to the accessory outlet was off, My ride there was at 4000 rpms most of the way and hit some light traffic and stop lights but every gear was at or above 4000 rpms, so after my appointment which was over two hours I turned the bike on in dio and read 11.9 when I got home I checked voltage at the battery and was 12.3, I suspect that I have a bad stator and that when the motor reaches operating temps the system gets real weak, I am waiting for a warm day to ride to my dealership and see if this happens with just the high beams on, I did have problems back running 120 watts of heated gear coming home from my dealership and rode home at 4300 rpms the whole way and had a nearly dead battery when I got home which is only 1.5 miles away. otherwise the bike runs awesome, I ruled out my battery and had my voltage regulator replaced because it was bad. Can anyone tell me if I can use a amp meter from the yellow stator wires to frame, so I would have one wire with one end in the one wire of the three in the stator with the amp meter in line and ground it out to the frame while running, so I would get the bike running and see the amps each of the three yellow wires are putting out, and if I do this how many amps would I be looking for around 10.63 a wire or 32 amps for each wire. Mike, Forgive me if you have answered this in previous posts, but has your servicing dealership given you any indication that it is getting advice or coaching from BMC on your electrical issues? And if so, to what extent if you know. |

Does the 1125R use the same connector type from the stator to the voltage regulator as Aprilia? Some Aprilia owners seem to have charging problems as well. Here is a link to the Aprilia issues and what some owners have found and suggestions for fixing there problems. http://www.joe250.com/motorcycles/tuono/brownconne ctors/brownconnectors.html |

Thanks Rsh I do not, I had disconnected it to test and was not like that plug, At this point I need hard evidence to the problem, I just got back from a short ride with just low beams with a couple of starts and the bike is reading 12.5 volts up two from today, also it is in the thirties now and cold. Fresno, "Just trying to follow your advice about concerning myself only with my bike, Blake." Then a bit later... "Mike, Forgive me if you have answered this in previous posts, but has your servicing dealership given you any indication that it is getting advice or coaching from BMC on your electrical issues? And if so, to what extent if you know." From where I sit, you, Fresno, are being less than honest. (Message edited by blake on April 03, 2008) |
