...is the strangest thing going. Got my 2000 S3 home finally, and was going over the new ride. Saw that the clock was about two hours, and change, off, and decided to re-set it. Pushed in the stem, turned it (like all clocks that I've ever come across) and noted that the only movement I got was on the second hand, which was of no help at all. What, if anything, am I doing wrong? Or did I get a bum clock? Thanks. DW | ||

Dragon, My stem does not work at all. I unplug the clock from the back and plug it back in when it is showing the correct time. | ||

DW, I think the clock is a VDO product which is a fairly common auto aftermarket item. So, if it doesn't fix itself (stranger things have happened) and you want to get it fixed, an auto instrument repair shop would be a good bet to unstick the hour hand winder. | ||

I've got one that I tore apart. There is a little notch in the brass looking part around the second hand that the stem fits into. Maybe you're not hitting the notch when you press the stem in. Maybe the stem is broken. Is the body of the clock broken away from the face? You can do that real easy if you take your gage panel off? The stem won't reach the adjuster slot then. | ||

Bert: Yep! Clock, tach, speedo, reset button for the odo, and small bank of microscopic warning lights that you can only see at night.... pretty basic stuff. DW | ||

And, the very useful at night Low Fuel light is almost invisible if you are riding with the sun at your back. Damhik!  |
