I have some chips in my wheels that I would really like to fix. I have the trans. amber rims. The chips are on the edges where the tire has been changed an beat to hell by the Harley dealer, before I got the bike. I would have had them replace or fix them myself. Any ideas on how to touch these up? I would be happy just being able to find a quick fix that will make them look nicer standing back a few feet. Thanks | ||

First challenge is to find a matching paint. If you can do that, then you should be able to fill and smooth the chips with epoxy, sand, smooth, prime and paint just like any good bodyshop would do. | ||

I'm assuming that you are talking about very small areas to be covered. Also, you're not going to enter the bike in a show. Two ideas: a hobby shop with those Textor? paints and finger nail polish. What a sight carrying in your wheel to match the finger nail polish! | ||

The hobby store is a good idea, but the paint store, that takes the cake, why didnt I think of that? The paint store would probably laugh at me...what am I gonna put on it Latex or Enamel?  Pint or gallon? To have body shop mix it would cost way more than I want to spend. Yeah, they're just little specks that need fixing, no bike shows. LOL...the paint store....thanks guys | ||

Your dealer sell's small containers of touch up paint to apply by brush. To match the Amber powder coat is not easily done. I know because I've had it done. If thats what will do for you contact your dealer or a dealer sponsor here on this forum. | ||
