I know there are many threads talking about the best replacement mirrors for an 03-ish XB9R and that you cant see with the stock ones. The bike was designed, tested, and released with the stock ones. With Buells overall thoughtful design, I have a hard time believing they were meant to be "useless" as I have heard them called many times. Is my seating position incorrect per original design intent? Or what gives? |

No idea . . . . funny thing but I learned, in 1989, to do a little maneuver I dubbed the Buell shoulder dip. The RS-1200 came close to letting me see behind but it required that the shoulder be dipped slightly. The S-2 was quite similar. I note that the mirrors on the Ulysses are no more than adequate and think I have, having never really seen any motorcycle mirrors that were worth a hoot, an elevated tolerance level. I've thought about trying the Tuono mirrors but haven't really felt the need. I have kind of a "target spot" protocol where I kind of know where I am going to look when I go to the mirror and the move it takes to get there. Interesting design question and I'll be the platform engineers and styling folks battle over this one. |
