Okay I bought the No Mar. Now all I need to do is mount it to the garage floor. Is there anything special to be done other than using a masonry bit? Do I need a hammer drill? |

You can use a regular drill, but keep a fire extinguisher handy. We just installed one with ChadHargis last weekend. The hammer drill was smoking by the end. Of course, the holes were much easier to drill once the bit was spinning "clockwise". |

Either here or elsewhere someone mentioned mounting their No-Mar (or a competitor's model) to a sheet of plywood. Cap screws thru the plywood. Throw the plywood on the floor, set down the tire changer, spin on the nuts to hold the changer to the plywood, stand on the plywood to do your tire thing, then when done just reverse the procedure and stand the plywood up against a wall until the next tire change comes along. Got no idea how well this works, nor even where I read it (probably here in the last two weeks or so, maybe), so use your best judgement. There is also a receiver mount to plug it into a car/truck receiver type trailer hitch, but I'd be afraid of messing up the paint and busting out the rear window of the car/truck if I did that. As to setting bolts into already cured concrete? Have fun. |

The kit comes with expansion lags. The problem is that the holes are 3/4" to 1" in diameter. It didn't take long, but with the wrong drill you will have a dead drill and no holes. |

get the receiver hitch adapt kit for it, that way you can take it to the track! |

Spend $30 and rent a Hilti hammer drill and have the holes done in about 3 minutes. Your time is worth something plus you save your own drill! |

Used the neighbors big craftsman hammer drill... it did better then I did. My hands are still half numb two weeks later. I just used big lead (or whatever they use these days) lags. They seemed to stick OK, and I can take the lag screws out so I dont have bolts sticking up out of the garage floor when I am not using the changer. |

Stick some ear plugs or foam or rolled up cardboard into the holes in the floor when you have the screws/bolts out. Going to be a real bear getting out small screws and pebbles and whatever else falls into those holes before you go to re-use them again. Those holes will be like little magical magnets for every single small screw or washer or grain of sand in the garage, trust me. (I still like the sheet of plywood idea.) (You can take the plywood to the track too. ) |

Dent I will tonight. Stick some ear plugs or foam or rolled up cardboard into the holes in the floor when you have the screws/bolts out. +1 Or leave the bolts in |

Dentfixer, here you go.
What? Wrong Nomar? I did wonder why you'd want to bolt him to your garage floor, but there's no accounting for taste! |

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I figured the hammer drill rental was the way to go. Did you guys use any adhesive on the lags that go into the floor? I was astonished at the complete lack of directions for building the tire changer (not to mention the floor mounting part) Thanks Matt |

LOL yeah the no directions is great, figured at least one page would have been nice.I just put one together for Jersey Thunder and was a tad pissed off about it. I put a drop or two of lock tite on the bolts and no issues. I have one of the Harbour frieght ones but same idea. |
