I have been trying to use the search function for some jetting and carb information. I have an '02 Cyclone with a forcewinder and a V&H can on a stock pipe. I found the perfect thread a while back, but now I can't locate it. If anybody has that thread or just has a good baseline for tuning, I would appreciate it. I wanted to do intake seals and I figured it would be the perfect time for going over the carb too.

I have a Forcewinder and K&N muffler on my 2000 M2.

You can start by changing the pilot (slow jet) to a #45, unsealing the idle mixture screw and readjusting it to 2 1/2 turns out. Some of us have shimmed the stock needles up (mine is shimmed .022") for lower altitudes (I live at only a few hundred feet above sea level in a fairly humid area). Generally you go leaner as you go higher in elevation. The mainjet should be fine - these bikes were jetted rich on top it seems.

Just those changes I described work well for my 2000 M2 up to the altitudes I encounter in North Georgia. I still get 50mpg on the highway, but very quick warm-ups and good plug insulation color.

Don't change too many things at once. There are all sorts of things you can do like drilling out the damping hole in the slide, cutting a few coils off the diaphragm spring, changing needles, et al... just don't do it all at the same time. You need to know where to go back to if things go FUBAR.

I drilled out the damping hole in mine to 3mm, it helped.

But not as much as putting the Keihin away in a drawer somewhere & installing a Mikuni.

If you want the response & performance go buy a Mikuni, if you ride gently(ish) & want the fuel economy, stick with the Keihin.

Oh yeah & what Djk said, do it a bit at a time.

It looks like you already have a wealth of info in the previous posts. But if you are like me and aren't sure about trying this on your own....when my 1999 M-2 was just a couple of weeks old, I had my dealer install a Yost Power Tube Kit in my carb. My mpg went from 50 to 40 but the bike runs great. I have a V&H pipe, race air filter and race ignition.
