I want to know an estimate, so that I know my dealership isn't taking advantage of me. I have a pair of new tires that i need to have mounted on a pair of new rims and then have the new wheels swapped out for the original wheels on my bike. My question is how long and an estimation of a price? thanks for the help | ||

A tire change pays one hour of labor per wheel (two hours total), if wheels are on the bike. If you bring just the wheels in and want tires mounted on them it pays a half hour per wheel (one hour total). | ||

We also add .5 hour per wheel to swap brakes/pulleys if you're installing new wheels. Max, 3 hours if bike is wearing the original wheels and the replacement wheels are bare - remove wheels from bike, dismount tires, remove rotors/pulley, install rotors/pulley on new wheels with new hardware, mount/balance tires on new wheels, reinstall on bike and test ride. | ||

Here in good ole Japan they wanted 120 dollars even if I brought them the wheels...they could not get the idea of me bringing the wheels=less work for them......duhhh | ||

My local HD/B shop quoted me an hour total for two wheels I brought in, bought the tires there, 90 bucks/hr. I was pissed at the price, but they comp'd it back to me in the end - When I got home, I noticed they mounted the rear tire backwards. Zack | ||

So I'm guessing it will be around three hours of work and approx. $270. Thanks for your help guys. |
