Chad - that's some great info on the Liberty. I'll have to keep an eye out for one, the ol' lady loves em but I was a little shy because of the trans problems (I used to work for a Jeep dealer). Sounds like you have the fixes sorted. Although it would be strictly a commuter for her - our 'hauler' is the 2005 Ram 2500 4x4 quad, with the 5.9 Cummins 375/610 I just can't justify driving a tank that size to work and back, even though it nets 21 in town.
Relative efficiency: Think about Horse power divided by mileage. Or volume divided by mpg.
So for those that would love to have lots of ponies, compare mommy's econo box hybrid that has what 100 hp and gets 50 miles per gallon (100/50=2) with a car that has 505 hp and gets 26 miles per gallon (505/26=19.42).
Bearly, how about that 7L engine you have getting better gas mileage than a 2L Honda S2000?
Damn you! I just had to watch the TopGear video again. Does the GPS really go to fast food first?
But yea, I wouldn't mind having something cheap like a KLR650, but that was Diesel. Con my local deli out of a drum of the fry grease, and then i can ride for a month
I saw them convert a diesel vehicle to bio on Discovery channel's Invention Nation. Flocculate out the glycerin with a lye and methanol mixture. The gycerine/lye/methanol goes to the bottom and everything on top is bio-diesel. I want a diesel Buell.
Chad, That's what I meant. They set up some super filtration system so that all they'd do with fry oil is decant it off into the tank. They didn't have to get the glycerine out using lye.
