Well, I had been dancing with lady luck, and finnally lost  . While I was getting my haircut yesterday, I had the bike parked with the tail facing about where the sun was going down. Walk outside after my haircut is done, and I now have a small melted spot on the gauges. Oh well, not a big deal to me. I didnt buy this bike to showboat her around! I will take some pictures of it today after I get home. Kinda made me chuckle at how ignorant I was to not try and protect them all the time. | ||

Heh...I've got a small scar on mine from that same thing. I just started parking 90 degrees off of how I used to, problem solved. I usually carry around my city cover, anyway, regardless of the weather. Keeps my DB from marking its territory...and the birds, too! | ||

Firebolt32, the Double Bubble style screens act like a magnifying glass, but instead of pointing at some ants, it carves into the gauge cluster. Covering the gauges with your gloves can prevent this. | ||

I prefer the Zero Gravity Sport Touring screen to their "Double Bubble" anyway. Same price, so what the heck? | ||

okay... science nerd here... The double bubble windscreen does not act as a magnifying glass as it does a parabolic mirror. An example of a parabolic shape that you may be familiar with is any satellite dish. The dish gathers signals from satellites and bounces the signals off the dish part and reflects them to the focal point which is the receiving antenna. The screen acts the same way. The curvature of it gathers sunlight at a certain angle and focuses all the sunlight to it's focal point which happens to be at the distance which the gauges are away from the screen. I give credit to the show "3-2-1 Contact" which I watched on PBS growing up. Ride Safe y'all |
