i just bought an 03 xb 9r with about 13k miles on it... does this model have any negative issues that i should address? its been riden pretty hard, from the looks of it... |

The belt drive and pulleys were updated in 04 and again in 06. You can keep your pulleys and just switch to the upgraded 04 belt or swap it all out for the 06+ stuff. |

Go to the knowledge vault right now. There are a few minor issues with that model year, but nothing major. Gentleman John has a good write up on things to look for. Go here and check it out. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/311829.html?1191960502 Also look into recalls for the VIN. I think some of the kickstands were faulty. what is involved with converting a 9 to a 1200 motor? if it was simple, wouldnt it be a slick mod, due to the lower gearing? at least i was told it is geared different, correct me if im in error.. sort of like converting a 883 sportster to a 1200? |

i was thinking of a 1250 kit for the 9...but i cant do a 1250 kit with the 9 because the stroke is different, correct? |
