What I don't understand is the insistence on using a BWB logo that tap dances around copyright infringement in the first place. Just design something else and everyone will be happy. I'm a bit nonplussed that the site owner doesn't want people to be proud of membership and spread the word. This site is an important element of ownership IMO. I've met new friends that share my biggest passion, learned many things not contained in the shop manual, and even scored a date or two off this site. I think it's important to invite other Buell owners here, and an identifier would be helpful toward all of these ends. |

Nonplussed? You gotta dumb the grammar down a bit for some of us. I don't think Blake has an issue with us being proud of membership and/or spreading the word. It's the case that the BadWeb logo resembles Buell's. Creating a patch, sticker, etc. using this logo could have copyright issues. At this point Buell has made no fuss about it. Most of us agree 100% with you TX. But in the same breath we want to respect Blake's wishes for the sake of giving us all the opportunity to be here. He has no problem with a generic themed patch. |

Well you know how it is Jesse. I really don't feel that passionate one way or the other. To tell you the truth, I don't have any patches on my leathers and it doesn't hurt my feelings too much that I don't have any. I just thought I'd chime in intermittently to try and draw out a direct response from Blake.
And to be more direct myself, my question is, "Why are we hell-bent on using a logo that could be construed by some as technical copyright violation and not something completely unique?"
Again, I don't want to step on any toes. Just trying to participate in the banter. I'm just glad to have benefited in the ways I mentioned above. I appreciate the enhancement(s) this board provides to my Buell ownership.
Oh and by the way, thank you for being so polite Jesse. That was a very nice way to poke a hole in my sail. (-: |

I was just having a little fun. But your absolutely right Phil. Why not create something unique? Buell is in it's self. As for myself I have two jackets. One that has one patch with an Italian flag and the other is completely bare. The biggest reason we are wanting this is to be known by other members at bike events. |

Sorry Blake I don't mean to get on your bad side.
I'm just really liking the idea of a custom patch even if has no connection to badweb other than it being exclusive to members.
The trouble is that in order to get a quality patch with a design on it, not just letters, you kinda have to order in bulk. The cheapest way I can see is too order 100 for about $2 each. I'm not looking to make a profit, just satisfy a request. I've even been toying with the idea of saying to hell with it, make a batch, and just give them away.

I am just foolin around I would never do that the idea of having a BadWeb patch is very cool I just put the sturm staffel up as an example and just thought I'd have a little fun with it when I saw it got something going sorry |

Just do it like Nose art to the WWII planes. Each squadron had their own, it did not affect that an Avenger was still an Avenger or that maybe some other Squadron had a blonde in the same pose where yours had a Brunette. And Squadron patches are all very similar, the only ones that are restricted are the Pentagon shaped ones as those are reserved for the capital (dont ask me why) If you want to make and fly your own patch, go for it. Just the big BadWEB buckle is taken so use something else. Not like there is a National Charter of B.R.A.G. with some by laws saying what you can and cant do for your local riders.
