I've taken my M2 only to Tilley for about 5 yearys now. Bubba worked on it a couple years until he moved back up north, then Dan Workman worked on it for the last few years. I was very happy with Dan's work but he moved to Nito Shack a year or 2 ago. The last person at Tilley to work on it was a new tech, and I wasn't real impressed with his work. Not real bad work, just not experienced. Neil is their race bike guru, but he seldom works on our bikes. I've had work done in Johnson City & Knoxville. Won't take it back. I won't take it to Hickory just by the attitude on the sales floor and parts counter. I wouldn't trust their work, but I know they drag race Buells, or at least did a couple years ago. I'd rather dive anothe 30 minutes to go to Tilley. |

Oh yeh, for local work I use Scott, owner of Open Road Cycles. He's a one-man-shop, good with Harleys and loves working on my M2. He's off River Road, on Glendale, across a bridge near Asheville Bolt & Screw. 258-1600. He'll change a tire for $35, off the bike. |

I'm pretty sure that Dan's still at the Nitro Shack -- and there's no one in this area that's even close to him when it comes to Buells. He had his own shop -- 4 miles from my house -- and it didn't work out for him. I've kind of lost track of him since he closed it down. |

I should add that Carolina HD has the best service writer, Eric, that I've ever dealt with at a HD shop. They also at least 2 very competent Buell mechs on staff. I don't really use shops -- service manuals, and notes from Lafayette, Court's milk crate (I actually use a five gallon cannister,) and I work it out. |
