The shot from the rear is amazing. The brake lights (and I assume turn signals) molded into the rear diff. is super trick! Not sold on the tread pattern, but the view of the tail is Bad Ass! And it's a Volvo - sweet. Nice find! | ||

They could be a licensed use too... Could be but if they were Anon, or Court would have made a big deal of this before I found it on Jalopnik. Haven't we been down this road with that Honda concept bike? It had similar brakes. | ||

Some time back, I sold four XB rotors and calipers to a guy that was going to be putting them on a concept car. I don't know if this is the one or not. I told him that they'd look right on one side of the car, but that there wasn't a matching left side caliper. Wasn't sure how he was going to solve that one. They look cool, but I don't think they'd be up for the task cooling wise in an application like this. Al | ||

From the specifications below the photos: Brakes: Specially manufactured brake discs fitted to the wheel rims. Diameter: 450 mm front, 515 mm rear. Twin four-pot calipers per disc. Front wheels: 10x22" AEZ Forge rims. Rear wheels: 8x19" AEZ Forge rims. I don't think those were Al's rotors... | ||

Not technically a T-bucket as there is no bucket to it. More so a Kabob. Very popular out on the salt flats. Get rid of the tan samsonite luggage up front and I would drive the hell out of it. Nice update on an old favorite. | ||

Any other hot rodders/street rodders on the Badweb? My business is building billet grilles for street rods. I built the grille insert on this years "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" winning car.  I'll be at the Detroit Autorama Friday and Saturday (March 7-8). I don't have a grille on anything competing this year (not that I know of anyway), but have a grille on a car that was supposed to be there this year, but is being held until next year. My inserts have been on a few "Great 8" cars though, the one pictured above included. Just haven't been on a "Ridler" car....yet (maybe next year - fingers crossed). | ||

My old man had a 32 ford sedan growing up, we were members of the NSRA and went to many events. I cant even afford to think about a street rod but they are in my dreams. | ||

Yep, sad to say it's true. Car-building legend Boyd Coddington, whose testosterone-injected cable TV reality show "American Hot Rod" introduced the nation to the West Coast hot rod guru, has died. He was 63. Coddington died at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in suburban Whittier at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday. His La Habra office spokeswoman Amanda Curry wouldn't disclose the cause of death. Coddington, who started building cars when he was 13 and once operated a gas station in Utah, set a standard for his workmanship and creativity, with his popular "Cadzilla" creation considered a design masterpiece. The customized car based on a 1950s Cadillac was built for rocker Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. "That was a groundbreaking car. Very cool," said Dick Messer, executive director of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. "This was your modern era George Barris," Messer said. "He did things to hot rods and customs that weren't being done by anyone else. But the main thing is he designed cars that were drivable." Coddington was a machinist by trade, working at Disneyland during the day and tinkering with cars in his home garage at night and on weekends. His rolling creations captured the imagination of car-crazy Southern Californians and soon he was building custom cars and making money. Most often, he customized 1932 Ford "little deuce coupes." "It was one of those things when a hobby turned into business," Messer said, noting Coddington was also "one of the first guys to get into the custom wheel business." Wheels by Boyd were fetching $2,000 apiece, which was unheard of two decades ago. Coddington also surrounded himself with talent. Alumni from his shop include Jesse James and Chip Foose, who went on to open their own shops and star in reality TV shows. Coddington twice won the Daimler-Chrysler Design Excellence Award and he was inducted into the Grand National Roadster Show Hall of Fame, the National Rod & Custom Museum Hall of Fame and the Route 66 Wall of Fame. Always dressed in a Hawaiian shirt, Coddington said he loved his "American Hot Rod" Discovery Channel show, which featured ground-up construction of $500,000 hot rods. "The viewers are ... people who lived in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s and loved these cars. Now, they have money," Coddington told The Associated Press in a 2004 interview. | ||

Fueling up the Impala in Wendover a few years back, some old dude in a beard and aloha shirt pulled up on the other side of my pump, eyeballed my primered lead sled and said "nice car". My roadtrip buddies had NO idea who the "F" he was or why I was grinning ear to ear. Rod In Peace, Boyd!!!! | ||

Caution, do not read above post whilest drinking Mt Dew and Red Bull. It will shoot out your nose an a most painful expediant manner. Thanks for the laugh, put some knobbies on it, paint it orange and run it in the mud. Heres what my version would end up like. (take the roof off and I am sooo there)  |
