Anyone know how dark the "kick ash" translucent XB panels are? I was wondering if they were dark enough to just add a slightly different look to the 1125, but without being a mis-match to the rest of the black. I've not seen the kick ash in person, so please feel free to tell me that would look like hell if it really would. Just thought if it was dark enough it may look alright...sort of like fairly dark window tint on a black car. |

It might be cool to start with kick ash, and do a careful prep and paint the 1125r stock black on the *inside* of the translucid airbox. Its been done a few times on the 9sx with some great looking results, and the Radio Control folks have been doing it with good success as well. That would look really neat... think color matched, but with 3/8" of clear coat. Are the airbox covers all interchangeable? That's cool! |

It is like the lens on sunglasses. I ordered new wheels and bodywork for my bike and I am incorporating Kick Ash. -Sean (Message edited by thespive on January 25, 2008) |

this is the Kick Ash Air box cover I put on my Uly. I changed it back to orange and I'm saving the cover for my 1125R. Should look good

Do you still need pics, looks like you have a good selection here. --Sean (Message edited by thespive on February 16, 2008) |

I'd just like to see it on a "25r" with daylight shots to get a good perspective of how it would look with the black plastics. |

how is that X piece on the top of it? does your chest lie on that or what? |

Not sure, just my guess, but I think the X piece is designed to prevent wear and scratches on the plastics when using a tank bag. |

I like it and think it would look even better on the 1125 and maybe light up the inside to. I think I might do this, I like the color and plan on painting the bike, like a dark grey or to match the cover, I do not like the blue and the wheels look even worse but I bought it for its performance and will make it look awesome as the months roll by. The X-piece works great as an area to place your lid while parked--keep your eye on it if you are warming up the XB. |

I have the Buells the facilitate the requested airbox switch. If I have time, I will switch the airboxes this afternoon and take pics. Harlan |

the clear covers look good but show scratches and swirl marks. I had mine on my Uly for about a month and went back to the stock cover. |

I can see that in the pictures but black also shows, someone said to use the stuff for repairing compact disc that are scratched, also a good buff job would work to. |

Fresno , have you had a chance to take pics of the smoked airbox on the "25r" yet? |

No, hopefully this weekend. Been out of town the first few days of this week... |

I think smoke ash with lights inside the cover would give a different and nice look to the bike. I also see the front air inlet that would have to be blocked because the 1125R has ram air and with that piece in front I think it would hurt top speed performance. Mike |
