If I become a lawyer the first thing I am going to do is prosecute all you guys for the way you ride your Buells!

...but the internet allows all. I am the best technician and the greatest rider ever! Oh wait, there are a million other people on the internet that claim to be that. Well the internet has room for one more. (Message edited by dentguy on March 12, 2008) |

I have yet to reach the chicken strip, I do not trust the roads around here, it is cold with sand on the roads and melting snow so I could be in a corner and then it will be wet, so I am playing it safe plus I am still getting use to the bike, I hope next month it will be nice weather and my bike will be ready. and for may I hope to have my garage turned into a shop with a better welder and tire changer and a few other tools so I can maintain four bikes maybe more, my sister has a bike but does not run, her son has his bike in my garage, and my son has the ulysses and I have the r and the blast, plus I want to get some dirt bikes to fix up for my son and I to ride. Can anyone help with the proper procedure for removing the top triple clamp? Mike |

Is it any different than most any other top triple clamp? If not, then proceed as per normal. Take note of fastener turns required when unscrewing so that you may achieve proper tightening when re-assembling. |

In the case that it has two pinch bolts/screws per side, be sure to loosen each gradually, switching back and forth until they are loose. Use the same logic when tightening. This will avoid overloading either of the pinch bolts/screws. |

Thanks Blake, it looks real simple and will count the turns I will use my tq wrench when I put it back together and go by the specs for the other bikes. Mike |

If the bolts are the same size, that might not be too bad of a bet. But I'd use the turns method. Be precise, even a half of a flat will make a big difference. |
