I've been trying to put XB wheels on my M2 and have hit ANOTHER snag! The front wheel is done after me putting an entire XB front end on. I am soooo close to having this completed, but the rear wheel has given me a problem. I bought a rear wheel, a sprocket from Saintly and finally got my rotor from harley. I thought I was good to go. Turns out the caliper and mount is not going to work on this type of wheel. I look over at my S1 and see the caliper and mount is completely different and looks to be what I need. Only difference is my M2 had the 3 spoked mags and the S1 has the PM wheels. I dont know if there is a difference but I'm looking for a rear caliper and mount from and S1 that has or had PM wheels. Anyone?? I am so close to takin her off the lift after her being on there for the past 3 months |

The reason the S1 has a different mount is due to the Brembo caliper. 1998 and later used the Nissin and a different bracket. However, the spec for the spacers that keep the wheel centered in the swingarm are the same for both models, regardless of what rims they used - they're both 1 1/4 on the left, and the right side spacer is 3/4 (numbers may be off a bit, going off memory here). So long story short, go to plan B! Use the S1 setup on the M2 and put the M2's on the S1 - they're completely interchangable. (Message edited by matty on March 01, 2008) |

Ahh that makes sense. I didn't see the calipers were from different manufacturers. Thanks for clearing that up. Hey... Thats a good Idea!! Thanks man. I'm going to give it a try. |
