If you are interested in swapping your wedge bulbs with LEDs, here is what I have found so far. do not waste your time with these; I bought them on eBay to check them out and its not worth the anticipation while you wait for them to arrive. That picture may have been a 30 second exposure. next I headed over to; http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html back in the day when I was an Audi forum member this vendor was one of the favorites. I ordered three types that arrived today. Contender #1 6 LEDs in the wedge color = Amber Contender #2 5 LEDs in a star pattern, maybe creating a little more "bling" color = Amber Contender #3 1 Super LED that according to the specs is the brightest mother of the group. color = White here is a nice chart on the specifications; http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/bulb_specs.ht m When I plug them all in, I'll take some pictures to follow up.... now I just need my bike back from the dealer... |

Hi Nick I got ones from www.starrotors.com and do not quite fit in the holes But did look bright, I lost one that fell threw the hole also a little big for the hole so I made the hole slightly bigger and are bright, 10 bucks shipping included, I got the blue which is suppose to be like the blue hid lights and got amber if I decide to use them as turn signals, I will be taking pictures tomorrow and when I get them back I will post them. I was wrong...... I got my lights from superlumination.com I have the 194 SMT tower III which I am eventually going to try in the 1125r and I have the 194 Supernova w/heatsink in my car on the license plate. These bulbs are awesome. I bought them both for my car license plate because I wasn't sure if the tower bulb would fit.... it didn't. Check the website out for details. |

My guess is contender #2 will be the brightest once installed. It's the only one that has LEDs pointed at the reflector, which is what you actually see in a vehicle. You don't see the source (bulb), but the reflection(s) of it in the lamp housing, reflector, or lens. Contender 1 will be next brightest, and contender 3 will probably be a pinpoint of very bright light...but it will disappear when you get off-axis (off to one side or the other). Just my .02, from my past days as a concert lighting engineer and color theory professor |
