Paradigm shift has been discussed and has been properly archived Zack. Seems like many of us has lived or are living in the "saccharine corporate environment". I just don't understand that the snake doctors get by with the same old tired phrases. That's why I went independent a while back. Gimme my work and spare me the bullshit. |

Slaughter. I've done my share of FMEA on equipment design, but my real fun comes into play with Divergent cause effect analysis. I have the luxury or working for a company that is beginning to realize you can NOT control Human Behavior, you must control the condition to solve errors. I could go on for hours, but this is a worn out expression thread on I wont Hijack it... |

"Going Forward" In everything from sports teams, politicians, corporate b.s., as in "Going forward, Mr Clemens will have a difficult time regaining the respect of the public." Of course you are going forward. Unless someone has a time machine we are all going forward! Like, into like, the future like. You know like what I mean Dude? Oh, and also, do all of the kids have to end each sentence with an inflection that indicates a question? When like, it's not? |

"Value added" No proposal, task or work effort has a chance of succeeding unless this idiotic buzzword phrase is included when talking to management. Value this... |

I'm with you on that one Brian.. Punt those idiotic fad abbreviations into oblivion. On a related topic. victim Victim has a right to existence in the correct context. And that is when somebody has been injured due to no fault or negligence on their part. But apparently being a victim is lucrative these days, with our lawyers and all, so being a victim has become popular. So victimology is gaining momentum and I don't like it a bit. |

Do you mean, "Whoa, whoa, whoa"? If someone said "woo, woo, woo" to me, I wouldn't know if I should run, duck, or hit them. |

That reminds me of another one I can't stand: woot Sometimes expressed as: w00t! Through context I have derived what it means. I have no idea where it came from, but I wish it would go back there. |

I'm all about safety in the workplace but our safety program is O.R.A., Ownership, Responsibility, Accountability. I feel there is an R missing; ORAR Ownership, Responsibility, Accountability, Redundancy. It bugs me every time I hear that slogan. |

My last year or so in the Air Force was so full of buzzwords and buzz phrases I wasn't sure anything actually had any real meaning any more. Thankfully, I don't have to put up with much of it anymore. Mostly I am just happy when someone speaks to me in English that I can understand. |

"Pre-owned" This one gets my goat. In my book, pre- means before, as in pre-test and post-test. So, if a car is pre-owned, wouldn't it be "new"? |
