Kristi, please add myself and XB9er to the Homecoming list. WOOO HOOO! We have reservations at the host hotel. We're coming in from Bellwood, PA. Crusty, when you go to the dirt track in Bedford, PA I'm guessing you will be going south on I-99 from Rt 80. If so, you be within 1 mile of my shop (I-99, exit 41). If ya have a chance, stop in! |

Ebear - Federal quoted me $800 for TEN!!! bikes. Normally it's about $1000. I think $800 is the normal rate they quote for AMA members. This was a quote based on picking up ALL bikes at Glendale HD/Buell and dropping ALL bikes at Hals. For that cost and considering how little time I have to spare, Sunny and I are likely just going to fly out and spend a couple days on the weekend before the event doing some visiting. Just rent a bike locally. I can give you the contact info. Problem is that I never could get enough commitment out of enough people to get a discount from any of the long distance haulers. The REALLY cheapies are scary. I've heard some horror stories from Don and Ernie that kept me away from some of the shadier operators. |

Just talked to another fellow Buell owner from Israel and wanted to rent a Buell for homecoming. I sent him to Hal's knowing Bud would take care of him. He called and reserved a City X and will be here. Thanks Bud,I wasn't sure if Hal's did rent Buell's still or if you even had one to rent. Thats Awesome. Dana -are you vertically challenged or is Eitan a giant? Funny I never pictured an Israeli wearing cowboy boots. Love to see stereotypes die... Can't wait to meet all you folks, this will be a vacation to remember for years. Z |

So, I was on ADV and a guy posted, stated his son liked Buells. I was going to mail him and invite him to bring his son to Homecoming, but ... The info concerning homecoming available on Buell.com available to non-owners is completely uninspiring. It doesn't even include pictures. The info available to owners might be better, I can't check as I've forgotten my password, and it wouldn't help me in this situation anyway. Did I just miss it on Buell.com or is there really nothing there? |

Whats available to non buell owners and NON US Residents on Buell.com is totally useless. I wish Buell would open up the website to other Countries. |

>>>Court alot of those pics were probably taken right off this board. They indeed were, that doesn't make the copyright go away. It's actually been there for a while. He posted it about the time he did the interview in Erik's office. It really is a fun piece. Some of the pictures taken in the bar were fabulous. |

Cool . . no idea who did the video but I DO know where they got ALL the copyrighted pictures. Welcome to the internet age. You do know that if you had filed the copyright with the US copyright office if there is an infringement the infringer would be on the hook for $100,000 for each photo used without permission? |

There has actually been a, I can't really call it a scam as it is legal, hustle that has been used to shake down large companies. First you file for copyright on some large body of images that you own, they need to be the sort of thing that would get used in an ad, then you post them on Flickr using the Creative Commons license thing giving users the right to do pretty much anything they want with the photos. Let them sit there for a while. Some agency sees them and downloads them for future use. Then change the CC to very limited rights. The person who downloaded them under the original rights retains those rights BUT anyone they might offer them to is covered by the new rights and they likely don't know it. Now when you image appears in a print add you have your lawyer send the nasty letter about a copyright violation. One of two things is likely to be true. First case is they got the image from an agency who had rights to use the photos BUT those CC license had been changed and the client who actually used the image did not have these rights because the CC had been changed. The second thing, and probably the most likely is that the person using the image has nothing in writing stating that they have right to use the image. The way the copyright law is written (it was written this way to protect the little guy, it is hard for a little guy to sue a big company) is that the accused violator has to prove they did not violate the accuser's copyright. If you don't have a release or a receipt you lose. In the second case the violator likely has no defense and will settle for a hefty sum. |

And a copyright is presumed to exist. It is the duty of the infringer to prove otherwise. It's a great world . . .

Despite the law being loaded in favor of copyright holders companies will use things without permission. And not just in the cases outlined above where they are "tricked" into it. When caught they often claim "an intern did it" and if you have not filed for a copyright they will fight you for every penny. I am working on getting all my stuff register with the copyright office. |
