I'm really on the fence to what to do with my handlebars on my lightning. I think there is actually too much information on this topic in the vault to look over because I've looked it over for weeks. I'm pretty close to just ordering the crossroads 0degree for my XB, but almost want the 7. I can stand the aggressive position and i like it,but I'm never going to the track with it. can anyone chime in and voice there opinion for or against these bars? maybe some pics with your favs. thanks in advance. |

I like the high and wide CityX bars myself. ;) --Sean |

Another vote here for wide bars. More comfortable during regular riding, easy to flick the bike around in hooligan fashion. At the track, the wide bars are a liability: excessive steering input is hard to avoid (for a ham-fisted old fart like myself), and there's certainly more bike in the wind down the straights - but the GSXRs would pass me like angry chainsaws regardless of handlebar configuration. |

thanks all for the input. I didnt think anything bad of the flattrack style bars on my bike until I rode a Firebolt and loved the way the steering responded. Its just too touchy for me in the stock xb12s position, being too pushy and tight gripped on these bars is not my style. I am used to the feel of resting on the outsides of my palms and pushing out on the inside of a turn, cresting nicely on the apex being able to ride the throttle thru the turn. These bars just make my input to much, I apex early on the expressway, almost 2-3 times in each turn. Or I just take the turn so wide and hairy that I lose traction from standing it up straight and braking. dont get me wrong, these bars belong on my dirtbike, they would fit perfect. I just need a little less response. Maybe renthals ultra lows will give me my sweet spot back? |
