Does anybody knows the purpose and function of the switch at the clutch lever?. According to the wiring diagrams, it is connected directly to the ECM so it should have implications on the bike performance, I presume. I wonder what they are. |

It keeps you from starting the bike with the tranny in gear and the clutch out, consider it a safety switch. Similar to the sidestand safety switch on a tuber. |

Based on '03 XB9S and '05 XB12R manuals, the clutch switch provides ground for the starter relay, in addition to neutral switch. |
