I just bought a Firstgear one piece Thermo suit and it is great. Went out for a ride at 40 deg temp and light rain, was out for almost 3 hours and was totally comfortable in both street and freeway environment. Just jeans and a pullover underneath, no jacket. I have heated grips so that kept my hands warm. Easy to get and and out of and seems well made. I am 5'9" and 190 lbs, got a large and it fit well, just a bit long on the legs but pulls up OK. It should be a good riding winter with this on. |

This is just an update. I now have some time in this suit and it continuous to perform well. I was out yesterday just for the fun of it for over 2 hours non stop in a mixture of freeway, highway, and city riding with the temperature in the lower to mid 30's. With a bit of wind and because it had just stopped raining, it felt like about 29 according to the weather channel. With heated grips, winter gloves, and hand deflectors my hands became a bit cool, as did my feet. However my "body" stayed warm. I was not wearing a jacket under the suit. I had a totally fun ride because I stayed comfortable. I could have stayed out another hour or two except that I got hungry and did not want to risk finding any road ice in the dark. Hardly any other bikes out, only saw 3, a very small fraction of the normal, probably because of the colder weather. |

sounds nice. i get tired of putting on so many layers to ride...it really separates you from the feel of the ride. doesn't that suit have a zip out thermal liner or am i making that up?? |

No zip out liner on mine, it is one piece. I can get in and out of it real quick, handy when you are going to work in the morning. It appears to be a slightly modified snowmobile suit, so there is no crash protection. |
