Hey, I'm pressing some new bearings in the trapdoor on my 96 S1. The manual says to press them in with the printed side upward, which I did. In the new bearings however, the plastic carrier is reversed, that is, the solid side of the carrier is on the opposite side that the printed race is on. Anybody see any problems with leaving them alone. The only one I can see is the beveled spacer for the counter shaft 4th gear may rub on the plastic carrier.
To simplify the question, can you press trapdoor bearings in backward?
Thanks for any input!
