>>>Are these prices because nobody's got any confidence in Wall St anymore or something? That's inaccurate. The firms with the TOP 10 BEST records in picking stocks the last 10 years are recommending folks buy stock. The firms with the TOP 10 WORST records in picking stocks the last 10 years are recommending folks stay out of stocks and, in fact, are in cash themselves. Personally. . . I'm going in. My wife just came off here best year in 25 years on Wall Street. But . . . I think the next year is going to be a doozy of a ride. |

Barret-Jackson is one stop shopping for the rich. The cars are all top notch, inspected and pedigreed, so you know what you are buying without doing all of the research. For that and having your ego stroked on national television, you get to pay more. It does give you an idea of where the collector car market is going, but if you pick up a copy of hemmings, watch e-bay, or even look at your local market, you will see that many of the same or similar cars are available for a lot less. |

>>Some of us do. Not me. It is the reality TV craze, you know.<< Not really. I only watch sports. If there is no sport on I switch it off. |

D-D, its a marketing thing, most of the US is surviving the mid-winter doldrums. To cold to do anything worth while. So why not spend some time watching our favorite cars go on the block. Living in the Phoenix area I managed to get to the event and it was an event. Twelve hundred or so cars, trucks, and even a few motorcycles. You being a motor head would really enjoyed what you could see. Even the food wasn't bad. I am already blocking next years auction in my calendar. If your in the area, let me know, my guest room is always ready for visitors. |

To each his own. I'll speak for myself. I DVR'd the BJ Auction from Tuesday night through yesterday for quick viewing. Years ago it was mainly vintage vehicles but with today's emphasis on muscle cars, hot rods and restorods I find it very interesting. Not only can I relive my youth (muscle cars) but with the crew on SPEED commentating it is very educational. Mike Joy and Steve M. as well as the others on the broadcast really know their stuff. Those of us with late sixties early 70 muscle cars watch it to see what our cars could be worth if we were to invest in the proper restoration with a reputable company. its amazing, I could invest about 50k or so in mine and maybe get it into the March Barret jackson auction and possibly get 150k plus out of it. Amazing where this market has gone. Where else can you find a 32 ford bus hot rod, or a plymouth 'cuda concept car? gotta just love cars I guess |

Barret is way over rated. I like watching but some cars just go way more then they are worth. |

Ya know it used to be cool but when they put all that monster garage junk on there I shut it off, and I had been looking forward to it coming on for months. And, if you go back a couple a years you'll see that there IS a recession in full swing I saw prices that were way off from years past. I guess if you are Ron Pratte it don't matter so much. |

Unlike what I've seen of reality television which requires the participants to have already had one. A non-surgical key to a happy life is turning the thing off. And do highbrow stuff like badweb and playstation.
