New H-D tach (Buell packaged) and mount to convert M2 to speedo & tachometer. I don't know if you need any other parts for the conversion, but the tach is in an unopened box and the bracket has never been on a bike. Part # on box is 67329-94Y and is dated 3/97 asking $45.00 OBO, plus shipping

That looks like it is either for an X1 or S1. The M2 has the speedo and tach parallel to each other side-x-side, the X1 and S1 had one gauge higher/more-foreward than the other one, at least from my recollection. Still a nice deal. |

What Mike said, the mount on my 2000 M2 was black in color and plastic too, not aluminum. And the oval slot was centered above the two instruments the round hole was below them. Here are links to the install instructions for a M2 Z1042.L tach kit, they will help with the instructions for the wiring and stuff: http://users.adelphia.net/~jackerbes/Buell/tach_1. jpg http://users.adelphia.net/~jackerbes/Buell/tach_2. jpg http://users.adelphia.net/~jackerbes/Buell/tach_3. jpg http://users.adelphia.net/~jackerbes/Buell/tach_4. jpg http://users.adelphia.net/~jackerbes/Buell/tach_5. jpg http://users.adelphia.net/~jackerbes/Buell/tach_6. jpg Save those images and print them full sized on letter sized paper to read them, they won't be very viewable as you see them at the links unless you zoom in on them. no, that is not an m2 set up. i believe that the tach hole may be a different size than the m2 tach. the part # and diameter measurement for the tach offered might be helpful, as well as a diameter measurement of hole in bracket |

Boy - I guess this is one quiz I didn't study for! I just somehow got the idea that it was for a Cyclone, and ran with that. Tach & speedo holes are both 3.7 inches across. Curt - if you want this stuff - get ahold of me and then it won't matter what it fits - it will be the one on YOUR bike! AL |

I got one of the earlier tach kits for my 2000 M2 and the plate was/is aluminum. I always forget which is which with the S1 and X1, one has the right side higher, the other has the left side gauge higher. |

I opened the tach box and took a photo - it's NOT a mechanical tach - definitely electronic with 3 wires about 32" or so long coming out the bottom. There is no 'cup' to hold tha tach in the mount, but that should be easy to source. NOTE - WHITE face with Buell and Pegasus logo. AL

With the three wires and the length it sounds like the wiring install might be about the same as it was for the M2. In that case there is a pink wire in the existing harness that has the tach signal from the ignition module. There will be empty sockets for the pins that are crimped on the leads from the tach in a large Amp connector located up under the front of the fuel tank. You just have to figure out which sockets the pins on the leads have to go in and you can get that from the instructions at the links I posted above. If all the wires are the same colors that will be helpful it getting it wired up. Erik, You need a cup to mount that, I still have the speedo mount cup left over from my M2 as the tach kit I used came with new cups for both the tach and speedo. PM me with an address at jacker@midmaine.com and I can send you that cup if you want to see if it will work for you. That'll be a freebie if you can use it, I'm up in Maine so the postage won't amount to much. That'll be your reward for not turning a nice old tuber into a chopper donor. :>) Jack |
